Wednesday, May 8 marked the 30th anniversary of McHappy Day, a day dedicated to supporting families with sick children across Canada.70c8fc80

On McHappy Day, a portion of the proceeds from all menu items sold at McDonald’s goes to charities.

ICBC customers will receive a $110 discount as base rates remain stable

BC Premier David Eby says ICBC customers will receive a $110 rebate.

In addition, base rates will remain unchanged until March 31, 2026, making it six years in a row without an increase, Eby said.

All personal and commercial ICBC customers who had an active eligible basic health insurance policy as of February 2024 will receive the rebate, a total of approximately 3.6 million policies, according to the province.

Mommy needs a break! BC bear drops cub to enjoy backyard swing

A mother bear, with her cub dangling from her mouth, recently decided she had to stop and take a short break in Coquitlam.

Mom and her cub were spotted in Susi Buonassisi’s backyard in Burke Mountain.

In a video Buonassisi captured of the incident, the bear is seen swinging a saucer tree and dropping the cub from her mouth.

In what appears to be an attempt to take a much-needed break and have some fun, the mama bear then spends a few moments trying to get into the swing.

BC boxer continues family tradition and goes for first Canadian title

Saturday is fight night in Victoria and Surrey’s Buneet Bisla is going for his first Canadian title since turning pro.70c8fc80

“It’s big for me. After this I can shape my future in boxing,” Bisla told This is BC.

Contact sports have been his calling for as long as he can remember – from taekwondo to kickboxing.
