Kristi Noem was questioned by Newsmax host Rob Finnerty over false claims in her memoir.

Newsmax host Rob Finnerty grilled South Dakota governor Kristi Noem over the false claim that she had met the North Korean dictator Kim Jung Un included in her new memoir, RadarOnline.com has learned.

Finnerty sparred with Noem over claims in her book: No turning back: the truth about what’s wrong with politics – and questioned her political future because of the recent one backlash caused by the memoir.

Noem was pressured into falsely claiming to have met Kim Jung Un in her memoir.

Noem appeared on Tuesday morning in the edition of Wake up Americawhere she got into a heated argument with Finnerty over discrepancies in her memoirs.

Finnerty cast doubt on the governor’s political future, claiming that “part of the problem with politics today is that politicians are not honest with the American people.”

“I’ve been to the DMZ, I’ve been to the area. What I said is Kim Jong Un…” Noem tried to explain before the Newsmax host interrupted him: “Have you been watching Kim Jong Un?”

Finnerty further pressed Noem, “Governor, just a moment, I’m giving you an opportunity to respond, I just want to get this out. So here is the quote from the book. You say, “I remember when I was a North Korean, I’m sure he underestimated me because he had no idea of ​​my experience looking down on petty tyrants.” Governor, that never happened, did it?”

Noem admitted that her editor had advised against including the claim in the book.

Under pressure, Noem relented and agreed that the false anecdote should not have been included in her memoir – noting her editor advised against it – but refused to admit that he had not met the dictator.

“What I said in the book is that when I became aware of the content, we changed it,” Noem said. “And that’s the way it is, so I shouldn’t have put that anecdote in the book. I’m not going to talk about my meetings.”

Finnerty refused to let go of the subject, repeating what the anecdote falsely represented: “But an anecdote indicates that it happened, right?”

“I’m not going to talk about my conversations with world leaders,” Noem fired back. “I’ve been involved in policy for 30 years, I’ve been traveling the world talking to world leaders for 30 years, and that’s a conversation I won’t have in this book.”

Noem claimed she had been “very candid” and that “a typical politician wouldn’t be that honest.”
