Man in life-threatening condition after collision with hydro pole in Scarborough – Toronto

A man in his 40s was taken to a trauma center with life-threatening injuries after his vehicle crashed into a hydropile in Scarborough on Saturday morning.

Emergency services were called to Tapscott Road and McNicoll Avenue just before 7am after receiving reports of a single-vehicle collision.

Toronto police initially reported the driver was trapped in the vehicle and later said he had been transported to hospital.

However, paramedics confirmed to Global News that the man was taken to a trauma center in life-threatening condition.

Police said Hydro has been notified, but no power outages have been reported in the area.

Tapscott Road northbound is closed from Newgale Gate and there are delays in the area. Drivers are asked to consider alternate routes.
