Netflix has released the teaser trailer for the fourth and final season of the superhero series ‘The Umbrella Academy’. Set to the tune of the 1986 European song ‘The Final Countdown’, the footage shows the Hargreeves siblings leaving their normal lives and preparing to work together for the last time.

Based on the graphic novel series written by Gerard Way and illustrated by Gabriel Bá, the beloved series follows a family of adopted siblings with superpowers who work to prevent the end of the world. This season, the Hargreeves are faced with a new ordeal: living a normal life. In season 3, the siblings lost their superpowers after a complete universe reset.

Elliot Page, Tom Hopper, David Castañeda, Emmy Raver-Lampman, Robert Sheehan, Aidan Gallagher, Justin H. Min, Ritu Arya and Colm Feore all return to the series. Min’s Ben Hargreeves uses his octopus-like tentacles to throw off an enemy during a fight scene in the trailer.

Nick Offerman, Megan Mullally and David Cross are joining the original cast for the final season. Offerman and Mullally play Drs. Gene and Jean Thibedeau, community college professors from New Mexico who suffer from extreme deja vu. Cross plays shy businessman and family man Sy Grossman, who is desperate to reconnect with his estranged daughter.

“The Umbrella Academy” last appeared on Netflix in June 2022, when the third season was released. The show first debuted in 2019 and its second season premiered the following year.

Steve Blackman developed the series and serves as executive producer and showrunner. Jesse McKeown, Mike Richardson, Keith Goldberg, Scott Stuber and Beau Bauman also serve as executive producers. Way and Bá serve as co-executive producers. The series is produced for Netflix by UCP.
