Where to watch Manchester United vs. Watch Arsenal: Premier League Live Stream, TV Channel, Prediction, Odds, Time

4 Min Read

Perhaps the Premier League-era match will loom large on the horizon and for once the pre-match conversation will not be dominated by talk of fallen giants in the plural. Just singular. While Manchester United are a shadow of the side that took on Arsenal in the late 1990s and early 2000s, their visitors arrive at Old Trafford on Sunday confident they can follow in the footsteps of their legendary predecessors and win the title.

They will need a helping hand from one of Manchester City’s next two opponents if they are to become champions, but in terms of what Arsenal can control the situation is clear. They need to win to ensure the title race continues to the final day where they need to win again. However, Old Trafford is not a happy hunting ground for the Gunners. Only one of their last 16 Premier League trips to the pitch has ended in a win, that being a 1-0 win during lockdown when the pitch was empty. However, if they can calm Old Trafford one more time, they will at least be able to complete the Premier League title race:

Team news

Manchester United: The return to contention of Scott McTominay, Bruno Fernandes and Marcus Rashford can only be good news for United when there are so many absentees in defence. Lisandro Martinez had hoped to recover in time for an appearance against Arsenal but Erik ten Hag said no even though he is also expected to be without centre-backs Harry Maguire, Raphael Varane, Jonny Evans and Willy Kambwala, raising the prospect that Casemiro would again fill in at Center Defender. Luke Shaw has also suffered a setback in his recovery after a muscle problem.

“I’m never going to gamble with a player,” said Ten Hag, who also has to take into account the fitness of his team for the FA Cup final in just over two weeks. “Never. It’s about them, about their future. That’s the most important thing. About their career. I have to take responsibility for that and of course the club is the most important thing. But the safety of the player, the health of the player, is always of a high level [of importance].”

Possible Manchester United XI: Onana; Wan-Bissaka, Evans, Casemiro, Dalot; McTominay, Mainoo; Garnacho, Fernandes, Rashford; Hojlund

Arsenal: Arteta played his cards close to his chest after a week in which Bukayo Saka was seen strapped in training and Takehiro Tomiyasu was not seen at all. “We have some doubts that we can solve tomorrow because we still have training, so we will have to wait and see. There are doubts about [Tomiyasu and Saka].”

However, it is believed that both players are more likely than not to feature, meaning Arteta would once again have a fully fit squad to choose from. It seems unlikely he will feel forced to make specific adjustments to counter United.

Possible Arsenal XI: Raya; White, Saliba, Gabriel, Tomiyasu; Partey, Odegaard, Rice; Saka, Havertz, Trossard

Prediction

Their past problems at Old Trafford may weigh heavily on Arsenal, but they really need to have the quality to get the job done. CHOOSE: Manchester United 0, Arsenal 2
