Morgan Freeman is honored at the Monte Carlo Television Festival

Morgan Freeman will receive the Crystal Nymph Award at the Monte-Carlo Television Festival, which takes place in Monaco from June 14 to 18.

Freeman will receive the award from Prince Albert II of Monaco at the opening ceremony, in recognition of his television career.

The festival opens with the world premiere of “The Gray House,” featuring executive producers Freeman, Leslie Greif and Lori McCreary, as well as actors Mary-Louise Parker, Daisy Head, Amethyst Davis and Ben Vereen.

The Honorary Golden Nymph will be awarded to French actor and director Olivier Marchal during the closing ceremony for his contribution to the entertainment industry.

Simone Ashley, best known for her role as Kate Sharma in the second season of ‘Bridgerton’, receives the International Golden Nymph for Most Promising Talent.

This year’s Fiction category includes three world premieres: “Madam” (Tavake/XYZ Films, New Zealand), “Alone at Sea” (High Sea Production, France) and “Night Therapy” (Yes TV, Israel).

The festival will also screen the international premieres of “The Law of the Sea” (a co-production between RTVE and À Punt, Spain) and “The Gathering” (World Productions, UK), and the European premiere of “Der Heimweg” (Ziegler Movies, Germany).

“Elsbeth” (produced by CBS Studio and King Size Productions, and distributed by Paramount Global Content Distribution, USA), “Little Did I Know” (Bigster, Sweden) and “Helgoland 513” (UFA Fiction, Germany) will be shown the first time in France.

The News section includes “A Family – Beyond the Age of Isolation” (Korean Broadcasting System, South Korea), “La guerre de l’info: Israel/Hamas” (France.TV Studio/France.TV Presse with the participation of France Télévisions, France) and “Yemen, a torn country – in the grip of the Houthi militias” (ZDF, Germany).

The Documentaries section will consist of “Ukraine’s War: The Other Side” (Sean Langan, Tiger Nest Films, UK), “Ukrainian Chronicles” (Bonne Pioche Télévision/LCP Assemblée-Nationale, France), “Broken Dreams” (RAI and Nanof in co-production with Cinétévé, Italy, France), “Lie to Me” (Hacienda Film, Norway), “Table for Eight” (Keshet, Israel), “Mines of Death” (TV4, Sweden) and “Kongo Kings Has a Night Therapy” (Yes, Israel).

Public events include the celebration of the 1,000th episode of “NCIS,” attended by actors Michael Weatherly, Cote de Pablo, Brian Dietzen and Wilmer Valderrama, on June 16. Details about the upcoming spin-off ‘NCIS Europe’ will be revealed.
