Son of ex-Harper Collins director killed in motorcycle accident in Thailand

In a tragic turn of events, Elias Giangrande28, son of former Harper Collins executive Gregory Giangrandeand his friend Jack Niehaus25, were killed in a horrific head-on crash while returning from Thailand’s infamous Full Moon Party, RadarOnline.com has learned.

The incident took place on the island of Koh Pha Ngan, where they were riding their motorcycle back to their hotel from the beach party.

Koh Pha Ngan police reported receiving a call about the crash at 4:30 am local time, following the Full Moon Party that had taken place the previous Tuesday. Both Elias and Jack were riding the motorcycle, reportedly ‘drunk and speeding’, without helmets, when they collided with a taxi on a dimly lit road, resulting in the fatal accident.

Elias, a passionate diver and owner of a luxury yacht company in Miami, tragically lost his life along with Jack, who was described by his sister Priya Niehaus as if he were traveling with friends through Asia at the time of the accident.

Priya mentioned that her brother had run out of gas, prompting Elias to drive back and pick him up before the accident occurred.

“Think of the best qualities of a person and add a cheeky joke and a never-ending smile,” Priya said in a joint statement with Jack’s parents. Troy And Nicole.

“He had an ambitious career in the private sector at UBS, but his passions were travel and racing, and he dreamed of starting a family of his own,” they continued, describing the character of the late diver. “Jack had a positive impact on everyone he encountered, and that, along with his selflessness, will be missed.”

“He was a ray of sunshine no matter the circumstances, and above all he was inclusive, loving and kind to everyone. He may have only had 25 years, but man, those years were a true gift. A son, a brother, and above all, everyone’s best friend.”

The police investigation led by Col Panya Niratimonon revealed the devastating aftermath of the collision, with photos of the wreckage of both vehicles and the bodies of the victims.

Lieutenant Suteep Chadakan mentioned ongoing investigations, including waiting for blood alcohol test results from the hospital, to determine the circumstances that led to the fatal crash.

While the bodies were taken to Koh Pha Ngan Hospital for autopsies and preparations for repatriation to the US were underway, authorities coordinated with the US Embassy to support the families of the deceased during this challenging time.

Elias was a skilled hunting and diving instructor and had significant qualifications in this field. His vibrant presence was reflected through his social media, where he showed off his adventures and relationship with his girlfriend. Brielle Middletonwho has not yet come to terms with the tragic loss.

Elias’ father Gregory, a notable figure in the publishing industry who currently serves as Ellucian’s Global Chief People and Communications Officer, rushed to Thailand when he heard the devastating news.

With a successful writing career and frequent media appearances, Gregory is also known for his contributions to the New York Post and other various media outlets.
